Intermediate Pipefitting
The Intermediate Pipefitting program prepares students for careers in pipefitting in refineries, gas plants, fabrication shops and shipyards. The 322.5 hour curriculum is designed to amplify students’ pipefitting ability in advanced pipefitting and pipe-welding with an inert gas process. The students will learn to develop skills, attitudes and competencies in the pipefitting craft, understand drawings and detail sheets, identifying and installing valves and best safety practices. Participants in the program will learn best safety practices and be introduced to hand and power tools. Participant will learn how to read construction and pipe fitting drawing and detail sheets as well as understand pipe fitting trade math. Participant will also understand the process of threaded, socket-weld and butt-weld pipe fabrication.
